Protect The Bag: Lecrae Launches Digital Financial Literacy Series

FBetween youth empowerment initiatives and partnerships forged with the country’s main financial institutions, several stars are leading projects focused on the accessibility of financial education resources, and the latest to do so is the Christian rapper. . Lecrae. The Grammy Award-winning musical artist has associates with Experian to create a new digital series on money management.

The six-part YouTube series, dubbed Protect the bag– explores the different facets of financial well-being, covering a range of topics that include investing, saving and budgeting. As part of the project, Lecrae holds frank conversations with individuals from different industries, including Michael Porter Jr., Tyler lockett, Coco jones, Kyle korver and WHATUPRG– who explore their perspectives on the importance of financial literacy and how they navigate their money management journey.

Lecrae, who developed the series under his 3 Strand Films production imprint, says he was inspired to create the series in order to make the concept of financial literacy understandable.

“The Protect the Bag web series allows me to walk in multiple spaces simultaneously,” said Lecrae. “I can continue Restoration’s work educating people about financial literacy, but there is also an element of creativity and fun that gets the best out of me. People need financial literacy broken down in a way that they can understand, and I’m excited to partner with Experian to present this content, produced by my production team, 3 Strand Films.

This isn’t the first time Lecrae has partnered with Experian to drive change. Amid the global health crisis, he supported the company’s home preservation grant in conjunction with the NAACP. The grant provided mortgage relief to homeowners facing financial hardship resulting from the pandemic.
