PULWAMA: To advance the financial literacy initiative, NRLM Pulwama, in collaboration with RSETI Pulwama, today concluded a week-long financial literacy training for community resource people.
Meanwhile, MoRD under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission supports institution building for the poor by undertaking financial literacy initiatives focused on financial empowerment of women, which includes linkages credit with banks to achieve the desired goal.
DPM-FI, Sakib Shafi, speaking on this occasion, said that to impart financial literacy through a series of trainings, create a pool of master trainers; at district and district level, these trained master trainers would, in turn, provide training to community managerial staff called “Financial Literacy CRP (FL-CRP)”. At the village level, there would be an FL-CRP team to provide training to members of the SHG.
NRLM Pulwama program manager Arsheed Ahmad Bhat said these trained leaders / representatives in turn sensitize SHG members during regular group meetings. FL’s intervention would be deployed at the level of the CLF.
Pulwama Chief District Director Khursheed said the provision of self-help groups under the UMEED program provides women with a platform to become entrepreneurs and nurture them until they come out of the city. poverty and enjoy a decent quality of life.
FLCC, Rashid ud din briefed the audience on financial planning, savings, the benefits of saving with banks, the concept of business correspondents, khidmat centers, the difference between formal and informal sources of borrowing and the different types of loans.
The distribution of the kits among the members of the SHG in the presence of the director RSETI Pulwama also took place.
